| Sitze mit Fernsehern ^^ Das Flugzeug hatte drei Kameras, also konnten wir, obwohl wir nicht am Fenster sassen, alles durch die Kameras auf diesem Bildschirm sehen. Seats with TVs ^^ the plane had three cameras so although we didn't sit near a window we could see everything through the cameras on this screen. |

Am Freitag sind wir im Tokyo Narita International Airport angekommen und als wir aus dem Flugzeug ausgestiegen sind haben wir sofort die heisse und schwuele Luft gespuert (heiss und schwuel heisst uebrigens mushiatsui)
On Friday we arrived at Tokyo Narita international airport and as soon as we stepped out of the plane we felt the hot and humid weather (hot and humid means mushiatsui by the way)
Nachdem wir unser Visum und die Paesse vorgezeigt hatten und auch unser Gepaeck bekommen hatten, wurden wir von Freiwilligen von AFS Japan in Empfang genommen. Aber wir mussten noch zweieinhalb Stunden warten auf unseren Bus zum National Olympics Memorial Youth Center (kurz NYC - Wir haben uns alle gefragt ob wir jetzt nach New York fahren...?)
After we showed our visa and passports and got our luggage we met the AFS Japan volunteers but we had to wait for another 2 and a half hours for our bus to the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center (short NYC - we all wondered if we went to New York...?).

Auf dem Weg zu dem Jugendzentrum haben wir viel von Tokyo gesehen, allerdings war das Wetter so schlecht, dass man auf den Bildern nicht wirklich viel erkennt.
During the ride we saw a lot of Tokyo but the weather was really bad so the pictures didn't turn out that good.
Und wir waren ziemlich muede weil wir seit mehr als 24 Stunden wach waren, also haben die meissten im Bus gepennt.
Als wir im NYC angekommen waren mussten wir erst noch warten weil unsere Raeume noch nicht fertig waren. Ich und ein paar andere haben dann auf dem Boden gepennt weil wir einfach nur schlafen wollten. Spaeter sind wir dann zum Abendessen in die riesige Cafeteria gegangen.
Mit Staebchen essen ist ziemlich einfach :) Ich hab es im Flugzeug gelernt, es ist nicht schwer aber ich muss mich noch dran gewoehnen.
Am naechsten Tag hatten wir Gruppenarbeit wo wir darauf vorbereitet wurden am naechsten Tag unsere Gastfamilien zu treffen.
Jeden Abend sind wir dann duschen und baden gegangen, komplett nackt. Erst komisch aber am Ende ist es okay weil ja alle nackt sind ^^
Am Samstagabend haben wir dann kleine Klapphandys bekommen (die man dramatisch zuklappen kann nach einem Anruf, ich liebe es :D) und wir haben die Infos bekommen wie wir zu unseren Gastfamilien kommen.
And we were really tired because we had been up for more than 24h so most of us slept on the bus.
When we arrived at the NYC we had to wait at first because our rooms weren't ready yet. I and some others slept on the floor because we just wanted to sleep. Later we went eating dinner in a big cafeteria.
Eating with chopsticks is easy :) I learned it on the plane, it's not hard but I have to get used to it.
On the next day we had group work where we were prepared for meeting our host families on the day after.
In the evenings we always took a shower and a bath completely naked with other women. Weird at first but at the end it's okay because everyone is naked ^^
On Saturday evening we got small flip phones (you can dramatically close them after a call, I just love it :D) and we got the information about how we get to our host families.
I had to take the train to Niigata and I arrived at 2:12pm (the trains in Japan are super punctual!!! So much different than in Germany *cough*)

Als ich in Niigata angekommen bin wartete meine Gastfamilie schon auf mich (oder eher gesagt meine Gasteltern und meine aeltere Schwester).
Meine Gastfamilie ist soo nett und freundlich und sie versuchen mir immer mit Japanisch zu helfen auch wenn ihr Englisch ziemlich schlecht ist :)
Wir sind 8 Leute in einem kleinen Haus also muss ich mir eine Toilette und ein Bad mit 7 anderen Leuten teilen aber es funktioniert :D
Am Abend haben wir uns ein Feuerwerk in meiner Stadt angeguckt und ich hab schon ein paar neue Woerter gelernt:
Mushiatsui - heiss und schwuel (Hier ist es sehr heiss deswegen duscht und badet man jeden Abend)
Hoshi - Stern
Hanabi - Feuerwerk
Nemui - muede
When I arrived at Niigata station my host family (or better my host father, host mother and older sister) already waited for me :)
My host family is soo nice and friendly and they are always trying to help me with Japanese although their English is very bad :)
We're 8 people in a small house so I have to share one toilet and one bathroom with 7 other people but it actually works :D this evening we were watching a firework in my town and I already learned some new words:
Mushiatsui - hot and humid weather (it's very hot and humid here so you shower every evening)
Hoshi - star
Hanabi - firework
Nemui - sleepy
